Payment before maturity is available at the option of the depositor, subject to levying of penalty at the rate of 1.00% as specified by RBI directive issued from time to time on the deposit that has run with the bank. However with regard to calculation of interest no interest to be payable to any balance outstanding in an account for a period less than 46 days as per rules currently in force.  In other words any amount of subscription credited to the account shall be eligible for interest only it the amount had been with the bank for a minimum period of 46 days.
