Business Correspondents (BCs) provide banking services at the villages through hand held devices using Biometric Smart Cards. Biometric authentication using finger prints is more authentic and secure.

CUB provides the following Biometric Smart Card based financial services:

  • No frills Savings Bank Accounts are opened under “CUB-JANATA” and Bio Metric Smart Cards are issued to account holders
  • All transactions are done in „on line‟ mode on real time basis using CBS technology
  • No frills Savings Bank Customers are eligible for small overdraft facility based on genuine requirements
  • Customers can deposit and withdraw upto a maximum of Rs.2000/- per day through the BC
  • For the benefit of customers, sign board with details of Bank name, Branch Name, BC Name, Village Name, Timings, Grievance Redress
  • Contact No. and a chart containing information / advantage on the use of biometric device are displayed at all BC outlets / centres
  • Sanction of Credit Facility:
  1. Groups can be linked for credit after six months and the loan is to always sanctioned and issued in the name of the Group
  2. The amount of loan to the SHG will be in the ratio of 1:1 to 1:4 times of its savings. However, higher ratios can be considered if branch is satisfied about the group's performance
  • Loan Purpose: Loan shall be granted by the SHG for various purposes to its members. The purpose can be emergency needs like illness in the family, marriage etc. or for buying of assets. The group will discuss and decide about the purpose for which loans are to be given to its individual members by the SHG as its periodical meetings
